Road Access & Flood Control
Transport links in some villages of Abyei are poor, making it hard for children in different villages to reach their schools, the community to access hospitals and health centers and even people to get their produce to market it is very difficult in this case WFP in partnership with ACAD through FFA project build bridges across small steams to link the impassable areas that opened up new opportunities for Children/community to access schools, health centers and market.
Vegetable Gardens
A generation or two ago, most People lived in rural settings and had the space and time to grow large amounts of produce. They needed large vegetable gardens to provide plenty of food during the growing season and to preserve for the winter . These community gardens were economical and produced a significant portion of the family’s food. and enough to supply to fresh markets. ACAD is committed to train the beneficiaries on how to relay on their gardens for substantial need in both market and availability of food supplements.
